In the Oreto-Guadagna area, located in the southern part of the city, identified by Via Oreto leading up to Via Villagrazia, the area is bordered on the northern side by the Oreto River. The village originated around the 18th century, outside the then ancient city walls, and was incorporated into the current urban agglomeration after World War II. The predominant type of construction is generally popular, and in this context, between Via Matteo Lo Castro and Via Giancola Viviano, there are two adjacent houses, both on the ground floor of old construction. Within a radius of 250 meters from the buildings, there are the Palermo Guadagna railway station, the Greca bus stop for line 241, and the Guglielmo Oberdan Elementary School. The building on Via Lo Castro features a first room with services (what used to be the kitchen and bathroom) and another room at the back. Adjacent to the first building is a second property that accesses from Via Giancola Viviano; this latter has a single room with a narrow kitchenette (characteristic of the construction period) that leads to a small closet. Both houses were built in the second half of the 1930s and have never been renovated since their construction, therefore they require extraordinary maintenance work to make them habitable.
